2019 Holiday Stoneleigh, Cotwolds

Cotwolds. What a beautiful part of the world.

We were blessed with good weather most of the time, but did have the occasional drizzle .  . I guess that is why it is so green! We stayed in a gorgeous old cottage with thick stone walls, huge flagstone floors in kitchen and hall and stairs so steep and narrow they were almost a nightmare . . .
It was nice to stay put in one place for a few days.

We spent an afternoon at Blenheim Palace. What a gorgeous place.
Wish we had more time to explore the gardens.

Throughout the Cotswold's the Architecture is varied and interesting.

Spent day with my girlfriends daughter and family for a very enjoyable day. Extremely cute son and a kitten with character and a Scrumptious meal for lunch.

Another two days looking at the gorgeous countryside and dropping into all the wonderful villages full of character.

Eating all the pastries and teas with Devonshire cream . . . my clothes are shrinking.

Singapore - last stop

Last stop. Left Arron at Dubai airport as he is on his way back to Brisbane.  While we are  staying in Singapore, to indulge in some rest, before we return to  the dry.  Today we ventured over to the Botanical gardens. Had a delightful wander for 4 hours, to be chased away by thunderous rain after lunch . . .  back to hotel for a rest.   Caught a taxi to Little India. Celebrations went on all night. We stayed in the shopping centers, as they are open 24 hours and air conditioned. Interesting array of goods. When we came out around midnight there were thousands of people and the traffic was at a standstill. Had to walk to the Hilton to ask them to call a taxi . . . I bought a couple of extravagant, over the top pieces. (I will be ready for when we go to our next Indian wedding.) Also, some batik material and some embroidered silk. . .promise, that is it! Quiet day - reading and relaxing followed by a taxi drive around the city. Today we wandered over ...

JAPAN April - June 2024

OMG! What an adventure. First time on a organized tour with other people. 21 days of full on tours and activities. Land and cruise combined. Would do it again. More later.

2019 Holiday Amsterdam

We met up with our friends in Uk and have caught a plane into AMSTERDAM. How different. We are loving walking the streets looking at all the architecture, bikes and canals. SOOOOOOO many bikes. Have heard how many are stolen, discarded or lost each year and have forgotten the exact number . . . but it is in the hundreds of thousands. Visited the Art Galleries to view the Van Gogh paintings and all the other incredible works . . .  never tire of all the talented people and history. Staying in a quaint little hotel called 'The Bird', on canal with great views and in easy walking distance to everything. Can you spot The Boys waiting patiently for me to stop taking photos. Baskets of flowers are gorgeous.  Had breakfast in this very interesting cafe . . .  lady was not impressed that we wished to dine at the ungodly hour of 8am . .  . Loved glowing photo projected on glass, on the ceiling. Did the hop on hop off canal boat and bus tours . . .  on and off here...
